Robert Hansen worked for
large department stores including Myer executing window and interior displays. A
large cosmetic mural promotion was painted in this period. He worked for several
amateur theatre companies in the 60's. In 1970 he started work at Melbourne Theatre company as
set and costume designer. He was also a skilled scenic artist and painted many stage
sets for the company, including 'Cinderella' for the Australian Ballet Company.
Returning from overseas in 1979 he again worked for Melbourne Theatre Company and
the Playbox Theatre painting and designing. He was also a skilled sculptor and prop
maker, inc. executing suits of armour for 'King Lear in 1971.' He had several exhibitions of drawings, w/colours in the mid 70's including 'Young Originals Gallery' South Yarra, Melbourne. Being skilled in photography, in the 80's & 90's started work in digital art. Has work in the Vic. Gallery Theatre Museum and other private collections.
